Our Volunteer Services Teams are vital to the success of our program. They support the multiple activities of the house. There are many essential roles that our wonderful volunteers are responsible for.
The teams do not have regular meetings. When an activity or project needs to be done you will be contacted by the team leader or a staff person. They will give you information on the various opportunities available.
The House Team – The House Team plays an important role in the daily running of the house as well as collecting information on the history of the house.
Office and Front Desk Team – Our most important function is working with our guests. We have about 217 guests a month so we have a lot of back office work. In addition to working at the front desk there are opportunities to help us in the office with filing, data entry, and general office support.
Communications Team – We print 2 newsletters a year as well as an electronic newsletter that goes out to our volunteers about every other month. We can use your help in working on both of our newsletters as well as ongoing projects. We also have a Speaker鈥檚 Bureau that speaks to different organizations in the community to share the mission of HHoC.
Events Team – We have many different types of events that include everything from a morning tea, to a breakfast for 200, from a casino night fundraiser to an open house for the community. We need help to produce each of these events. There will be various levels of commitment and responsibility.
Grounds Team – We want the guests to come back from visiting their loved one and be greeted by our beautiful landscaping. It does take commitment by our Green Thumb Grounds Team.
Maintenance Team – Like any house, we occasionally need freshening-up. Our Maintenance Team is called on from time to time to assist in projects throughout the house.
