What would you do if you were in a strange city with nowhere to stay and a loved one who had to be hospitalized?

Hospitality House of Charlotte is a private, nonprofit corporation. Since its founding in 1985, the organization has doubled the number of people it is able to serve with the addition of a second home, and has opened its doors and heart to more than 26,000 people from 48 states and 17 countries. Because services to guests are entirely free, Hospitality House entirely depends on donations for funding.

When Home Matters Most

The cost of operating just one bed a year is $6,000 and the new home provides a total of 42 beds. The demand for this space is great, and Hospitality House depends solely on donations to make sure these families receive the support they need. The organization also relies on contributions to cover other important operating expenses such as office supplies, maintenance updates and staff salaries. The partnership the organization enjoys with the community and generous donations from friends, foundations, churches, corporations and people like yourself, allow Hospitality House to provide a “home away from home” to even more families.

Donating Items:

Because so many guests come to Hospitality House unexpectedly, many do not bring some of the basic everyday items they need to make it through their stay. As a result, Hospitality House is always in need of goods ranging from toiletry products and clothes to food and blankets. The following is just a sample of items that we need to keep the homes operating.

- Sheets (twin)
- Blankets
- Pillows
- Towels
- Washcloths
- Toiletries
- Sleep shirts (large and extra large)
- Umbrellas
- Cleaning and laundry supplies
- Paper towels
- Toilet Paper
- Casseroles
- Nonperishable food items (especially coffee and breakfast cereals)
