Since 1985, Hospitality House of Charlotte has provided shelter to out-of-town families while their loved ones receive treatment in nearby hospitals. During its history, we have sheltered over 40,000 guests who have come to us from 49 states and over 35 countries.
Hospitality House is more than just a bed. Guests who have stayed here know this firsthand what it feels like to stay where everyone knows the stress you are under and people are here to give a hug or lend an ear to listen. As one guest put it, HHoC is a port in a storm. This is a place where families from all over the world stay, but also where they find a common comfort and emotional support in one another, and their home, while away from home. The HHoC staff and volunteers understand what guests are going through and lend a sympathetic ear or a shoulder to lean on.
Hospitality House of Charlotte is pleased to be a part of the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses (NAHHH). This organizations mission is to support hospitality houses and other homes that help and heal to be more effective in their service to their patients and families. A home that helps and heals is a place where families and patients may lodge overnight while receiving treatment at a medical facility. It is not for profit, serves the needs of the patient and the family, and endeavors to provide community to its guests.

Here is what some of our guests had to say about us:
The Hospitality House is a blessing for those who have someone in the hospital.
It allowed me to be close to my son when I needed to most.
We ask our guests to pay $40 per room per night. This fee helps us defray our $60 cost. The cost of a hotel room in this area is very high and the amenities we offer are substantial.
Hospitality House of Charlotte’s 22 bedroom facility is full each night and has a waiting list each day. To keep HHoC available to its guests, we need and graciously accept donations in any amount. Generous contributions, from corporate donations, foundations, faith communities and civic organizations support the $60 per night cost to the organization.
